Jennifer and her husband, Kurt, both long-time residents of Arlington Heights, joined the Sakwa and Feder families in establishing Shelter Academy of Light. Since then, Jennifer has served as a board member and held the positions of vice president and secretary. She holds a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Illinois and a Master of Education from National-Louis University. Jennifer has 10 years of high school teaching experience in addition to 10 years of private tutoring and many years of teaching religious education. These experiences drive her efforts to put Christ’s words into action, “love one another as I have loved you,” through her work with Shelter Academy. Kurt and Jennifer are grateful parents to three children, who are the joy and center of their lives. In addition to her work with Shelter Academy of Light, Jennifer devotes her time to her family, church, and healthy living.
