Who We Are
Dedicated to providing quality education and relief to orphaned and vulnerable children, Shelter Academy of Light’s mission is to build and sustain a private model school that addresses the needs of underserved youth of rural eastern Uganda.
Construction News
Construction began on our flagship classroom building in November 2025 and is on track to be finished by May 2026
In the 12 years that we’ve been operating, Shelter Academy of Light has:
Established after-school reading clubs through partnerships with six local primary schools, providing students with supplemental education and resources.
Supplied school girls with menstrual pads and taught them to make reusable pads to ensure that no student is forced to miss classes due to a lack of feminine hygiene products.
